LG Unveils Stretchable Display Technology

LG Display has announced a significant advancement in flexible screen technology with the development of a stretchable display capable of expanding by up to 50% from its original size. This innovation allows the 12-inch display to extend to 18 inches without compromising image quality, marking a notable improvement over previous models that could stretch only up to 20%.

The display utilizes micro-LED technology to deliver full RGB color at a resolution of 100 pixels per inch (ppi). Its durability is demonstrated by its ability to withstand over 10,000 stretches while maintaining clear image quality, even under extreme conditions such as exposure to high or low temperatures and external shocks.

LG envisions diverse applications for this technology, including integration into clothing and wearable devices, automotive infotainment systems, and equipment for emergency responders.
